You're not behind. You're just human.
You’ve around 4000 weeks in your life. That’s it. That’s the whole number.
This idea comes from a book I've been reading called Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman.
This is not meant to scare you. It’s meant to wake you up.
You won’t get to everything.
You won’t finish every list.
And that’s not a sign of failure.
It’s the reality of being alive.
What if you stopped trying to do it all?
Instead of chasing the perfect routine or the final to-do list, Burkeman suggests you pick what matters most and let the rest fall away.
Here’s one way I’ve started applying this:
I used to write long lists for the week, then feel bad when half of it rolled over.
Now, I pick one task a day that has to get done. Just one. If I do more, great. But one is enough.
It sounds simple.
It’s not easy.
I still sometimes catch myself reaching for “more.”
But more never feels like enough.
What would change if you chose less, but followed through?
You can’t out-organise your limits. You can only choose how to spend your short time. What’s your one thing today?
